The African Television and the African Foundation for Justice have announced a N50 million reward for anyone with information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the mysterious death of Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The 27-year-old singer died on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances that have sparked widespread protests and outrage. Despite a coroner’s inquest, the autopsy results were inconclusive due to the decomposed state of the body, leaving the cause of death unknown.

Larry Omodia, CEO of African Television and the African Foundation for Justice, expressed deep sorrow over the inconclusive results and stressed the need for closure. “We need answers, and we need them now,” he said.

Omodia commended the Nigerian police for their ongoing investigation and announced the reward, urging anyone with information to come forward. “We guarantee safety and a financial reward of N50 million for anyone who provides information leading to the conviction of those responsible for Mohbad’s death,” he said.

The reward was announced at the Ikorodu High Court after key witnesses, including Primeboy, a close friend of the deceased, and the pathologist who conducted the autopsy, were cross-examined. The pathologist reiterated that the decomposed state of the body made it impossible to determine the cause of death.

Omodia urged anyone with information to contact them, promising safety and a financial reward. “We will do everything in our power to ensure justice is served and Mohbad’s family gets the closure they deserve,” he said.

The announcement has sparked hope among Mohbad’s fans and family, who have been seeking answers for months. With the reward, they hope to finally get the justice they deserve.
