More than 100,000 people attended a peace rally and demonstration in Berlin in support of Ukraine
More than 100,000 people have attended a peace rally and demonstration in Berlin today Sunday 27th February, 2022 in support of Ukraine.
The Organizer which included peace and environmental groups, unions and churches, had expected 20,000 to gather.
In Russia, thousands took to the streets on Sunday to protest Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, risking beatings and getting arrested. In Moscow, people placed flowers at the site where Boris Nemtsov, a Russian opposition politician, was killed.
In Madrid, tens of thousands of people demonstrated to demand an end to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. “The world is scandalized” by Russia’s attack, the deputy mayor of Spain’s capital city told the demonstrators.
