The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a notorious bandit, Bello Galaduma, while he was patronising prostitutes at the Aliyu Jodi area of Sokoto metropolis.

The 40-year-old, who has been on the wanted list of security agencies for over two years, also specialised in giving information about kidnap victims to kidnappers and bandits.

Galaduma was formerly operating in Niger State before relocating to Sokoto State where he was nabbed.

Disclosing this in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, the NSCDC spokesman, Shola Odumosu, said the suspect was arrested following actionable intelligence received by the men of the NSCDC, Sokoto State Command.

The statement titled, ‘NSCDC captures wanted notorious bandit,’ said the NSCDC Commandant-General, Dr Ahmed Audi, commended the NSCDC Sokoto State Command for the feat.

It stated, “Dr Ahmed Audi has commended the NSCDC Sokoto State Command for a job well done in arresting Bello Galaduma, a 40-year-old suspected bandit, who had been on the wanted list of security agencies for more than two years.

“Galaduma specializes in liaising with kidnappers by giving them information about persons to be kidnapped. He also assists kidnappers in buying drugs and other items they use for their nefarious activities.

“This feat was made possible due to actionable intelligence received by the officers and men of the NSCDC, Sokoto State Command who responded immediately and laid siege to the Aliyu Jodi area of Sokoto State, where he went to buy drugs and also to satisfy his sexual urge. In that process, the gallant officers wasted no time in ending his reign of banditry.”

Odumosu explained that Galaduma was undergoing interrogation and helping with useful information to apprehend other culprits.
